Overview
This Smok Nord 50W review covers the Nord 50W pod system (Regular Series) that we sell in the UAE. It is a button-activated kit with an 1800mAh built-in battery, adjustable power from 5W to 50W, a stepless airflow switch, USB-C charging and two different pods in the box: an LP2 pod and a Nord pod. The listing price is AED 120.
This is a specification-based review. Every figure comes from the product listing on this site, and we have not measured battery run time, vapour output or coil life ourselves. The sections below set out the specifications, the two coils that ship with the kit, how the Nord 50W compares with other Smok kits we stock, and what to check before ordering in the UAE. Nicotine is addictive, and these products are for adults aged 21 and over only.

Smok Nord 50W review: quick verdict and who it suits
The Nord 50W sits at the lower-power end of the current Smok Nord and RPM range. It lists 50W against 80W on the Nord 5 and RPM 5, and a 1800mAh battery against 2000mAh on those two kits. In return it is listed at AED 120, which is AED 30 below the Nord 5 and AED 20 below the RPM 5, and it ships with two pods and two coils instead of one pod and two coils of the same family.
Its other selling point is coil choice. The listing says the kit works with the LP2, Nord and RPM coil series, with the RPM pod sold separately. The Nord 5 listing, by contrast, says RPM 3 coils only. For someone who wants more than one coil family to choose from, that is the headline difference between these kits.
Who it suits. An adult vaper who wants a refillable pod system with adjustable wattage and airflow, is comfortable with a draw that leans towards direct-to-lung, and does not need 80W. The two included coils (0.23 ohm and 0.6 ohm) give a choice of draw right out of the box, which is useful if you are not sure which resistance you prefer.
Who should skip it. Anyone who wants the maximum 80W of the newer kits, a larger pod or a colour screen. The listing gives an OLED side display and pods of 4ml and 4.5ml. If you want a smaller, lower-power kit instead, compare it with the mouth-to-lung options in our Smok Novo 6 review.
Specifications in the listing
The product listing gives the following specifications for this Smok Nord 50W review. We repeat them as written and add no figures of our own.
- Brand and model: SMOK Nord 50W Kit (Regular Series)
- Battery: 1800mAh, built in
- Output power: 5W to 50W
- Pods: 4ml LP2 pod and 4.5ml Nord pod
- Coils included: LP2 Meshed 0.23 ohm DL and Nord Regular DC 0.6 ohm
- Screen: OLED side display
- Charging: USB Type-C, up to 1.2A
- Airflow: stepless airflow control switch
- Material: zinc alloy with IML plastic panels
- Coil compatibility: LP2, Nord and RPM series (RPM pod sold separately)
- Leak resistance: enhanced pod base technology
The listing’s FAQ adds a few useful details. The kit includes the LP2 pod and the Nord pod but not the RPM pod. It is not compatible with RPM 2 coils. The mouthpiece is integrated and cannot be swapped. The device is button-activated rather than draw-activated, and the maximum output is 50W. The listing also names a set of protections: lithium-ion protection, a low-voltage warning, an 8-second cut-off, over-temperature protection and short-circuit protection.
What the listing does not give is a coil life, a battery run time or a measured vapour figure. It does make general statements about battery endurance, but without a test method behind them, so we do not repeat them as facts. If you want to confirm which pods and coils fit, our compatibility finder for replacement pods and the SMOK Novo, Nord and RPM range page are the best places to check.
Power, coils and draw style
Power runs from 5W to 50W, set from the fire button. The listing explains that you turn the device on by clicking the fire button five times quickly, click three times to enter the wattage setting, and then hold or click to scroll through the values. Five quick clicks turns the device off or locks it. As a practical matter, a button-activated kit is harder to fire by accident in a pocket than a draw-activated one, provided you lock it.
The two coils in the box are very different. The LP2 Meshed 0.23 ohm coil is a low-resistance mesh coil, and the listing labels it DL, meaning direct-to-lung. The Nord Regular DC 0.6 ohm coil is a higher-resistance coil. In general, lower resistance suits a looser draw at higher wattage and higher resistance suits a tighter draw at lower wattage; our vape coil resistance guide explains the trade-off in more detail. We have not tried either coil, so we cannot say how either feels in use.
The listing’s FAQ says that for salt nicotine you should use the Nord pod with the included 0.6 ohm coil at lower wattage, or buy 0.8 ohm or 1.4 ohm Nord coils. That is useful guidance if you plan to use nic-salt liquid, since salt nicotine is normally paired with higher-resistance coils and lower power. It also shows why two coil families are in the box: they are meant to cover two styles of use.
For RPM coils, the listing says the kit takes the RPM series but that you need to buy the RPM pod separately. Our SMOK RPM coil guide sets out the resistances and how they fit. Match the coil to its pod before filling, because the listing notes the names appear on the rubber plugs.
Pods, airflow and everyday use
The two pods hold different amounts of liquid: 4ml for the LP2 pod and 4.5ml for the Nord pod. Both are refillable. The listing says you open the side silicone stopper, fill with e-liquid, close it and let the pod prime for five minutes before use. Fill below the line rather than to the top, and wipe condensation from the base from time to time, since the listing itself recommends this to reduce leaks.
Airflow is controlled by a stepless switch on the back. A stepless design means there are no fixed notches, so you can set the draw anywhere between tighter and looser. The listing pairs this with the leak-resistant pod base and silicone seals, but as with any refillable pod, overfilling or leaving the kit upside down in a hot place can still cause leaks.
Charging is by USB Type-C at up to 1.2A. The listing advises charging before the battery reaches zero, which is a sensible habit for any lithium battery, and avoiding long exposure to direct sunlight because the glossy body can get hot. Do not leave the device in a parked car. Keep the kit, pods and e-liquid away from children and pets.
If you are new to pod systems and unsure whether a refillable kit is right, our guide to choosing a pod kit and our pod system buying guide cover the main differences between pod systems, pod mods and mouth-to-lung devices. The pods and coils buying guide explains how replacements work.
Build, display and colours
The body is zinc alloy with IML plastic panels, which the listing describes as smooth and resistant to fading. The listing also describes the classic cobra pattern that gives the Regular Series its look. Glossy finishes attract fingerprints, and the listing lists that as a downside, so it is worth wiping the body from time to time if appearance matters to you.
The display is an OLED panel on the side of the device. The listing says it shows wattage and battery information. It is a small screen compared with the 0.96-inch colour TFT screen on the RPM 5 and Novo 6, and the 0.69-inch OLED on the Nord 5, but it is enough to see the settings you change most often.
Five finishes are listed: Black Aemor, Black Carbon Fiber, Black Red Marbling, Blue Gray Cobra and Silver Carbon Fiber. The listing describes Black Aemor as a rugged textured black, Black Carbon Fiber as a matte black with a woven pattern, Black Red Marbling as a swirl of black and red, Blue Gray Cobra as a scale-like blue and grey pattern, and Silver Carbon Fiber as a metallic silver. Choose the finish on the product page when you order, and check availability there.
How it compares with other Smok kits
The table compares the Nord 50W with three other Smok kits in stock, using only figures from each product listing. The Nord 50W is shown first.
| Kit | Power | Battery | Pod | Display | Price (AED) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Smok Nord 50W (this review) | 5-50W | 1800mAh | 4ml LP2 and 4.5ml Nord | OLED side display | 120 |
| Smok Nord 5 | 5-80W | 2000mAh | 5ml | 0.69-inch OLED | 150 |
| Smok RPM 5 | 5-80W | 2000mAh | 6.5ml | 0.96-inch TFT colour | 140 |
| Smok Novo 6 | 5-40W | 1700mAh | 3ml | 0.96-inch TFT colour | 120 |
Reading across the rows, the Nord 5 and RPM 5 add 30W, 200mAh and a larger pod for AED 20 to AED 30 more. Both newer kits list RPM 3 coils only, whereas the Nord 50W lists three coil families. The Novo 6 costs the same as the Nord 50W but tops out at 40W, has the smallest pod and is built around mouth-to-lung and restricted direct-to-lung use, so it is a different kind of device rather than a cheaper alternative.
If you want a side-by-side view of all four kits in one place, read our Smok kits compared page, or start from our Smok pod kit review for an overview of the whole Novo, Nord and RPM family. For other high-power options beyond Smok, see our high wattage pod mod kit page.
Nicotine, UAE rules and safe use
The Nord 50W is a device, not a nicotine product on its own; the nicotine comes from whatever e-liquid you put in it. Check the strength printed on the bottle, buy only from a licensed seller, and remember that nicotine is addictive at any strength. Direct-to-lung style kits are generally paired with lower-strength liquids than mouth-to-lung devices, but follow the guidance on the bottle rather than assuming.
Electronic nicotine products in the UAE fall under a national standard, which you can read as the UAE.S 5030:2018 standard (MoIAT), and products are expected to go through the Emirates Conformity Assessment Scheme, known as ECAS. For current limits, check the Ministry’s own site at moiat.gov.ae rather than relying on any blog post, because the rules change over time.
The NHS guidance on vaping says vaping is less harmful than smoking but not risk-free, and that it is not for people who do not smoke or for children. We make no claim that any product here helps anyone quit smoking.
We sell to adults aged 21 and over only, and UAE law may set a higher age limit. Our page on age verification and responsible use explains the checks. Keep devices, pods, coils and liquids away from children and pets. This post is general product information, not medical or legal advice.
Price, delivery and final verdict
The kit is listed at AED 120, which is above our AED 100 minimum order. Prices and stock can change, so check the Smok Nord 50W listing for the current figure.
Orders in Dubai arrive in about two hours between 10am and 11pm, seven days a week, and Sharjah and Ajman follow the same hours. Payment can be cash, card or bank transfer. Other emirates are served by courier within 24 hours, Monday to Saturday, with cash on delivery or bank transfer. Delivery is free above AED 350. An order of exactly AED 350 pays the AED 30 flat fee, as does any order below that figure, so a single AED 120 kit would pay AED 30 for delivery. Full terms are on our vape delivery in Dubai and delivery and payment pages.
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| AED 120 listing price with two pods and two coils in the box | 50W against 80W on the Nord 5 and RPM 5 |
| Works with LP2, Nord and RPM coils per the listing | RPM pod is not included in the box |
| 1800mAh battery and USB-C charging | Charging current of 1.2A is modest |
| Stepless airflow and leak-resistant pod base | Glossy finish attracts fingerprints |
Our verdict. To sum up this Smok Nord 50W review: on paper, the Nord 50W is the value option among the Nord and RPM kits we list. It suits an adult vaper who wants two pods, two coils and a choice of coil families at AED 120 and does not need 80W. It gives up power, battery size and pod size compared with the Nord 5 and RPM 5. If you want those, choose a newer kit; if you want a lower price and flexibility, this one fits.
