- Remove the old coil by unscrewing it, or pulling it, depending on the system.
- Fit the new coil firmly.
- Add a few drops of liquid to the cotton to prime it, then refill.
- Wait a few minutes before the first puff.

Before You Start
Switch the device off, or if it has a lock, lock it so it cannot fire while you work. Empty the tank or pod if you are changing a coil you can reach from inside, and have a tissue ready for any liquid. Priming a New Coil
A new coil is dry. Before you vape it, drip a few drops of liquid onto the cotton through the coil holes and let the coil soak for several minutes after filling. Then take a few gentle, low-power puffs. Skipping the soak is the main cause of a burnt taste on a new coil, and it can ruin the coil in a few puffs.
How Long Does a Coil Last?
There is no fixed number. Coil life depends on how much you vape, the power setting, and the liquid. Sweet, thick liquids tend to leave more residue on the coil. Using a higher power than the coil is rated for shortens its life. Replace the coil when flavour fades, vapour thins, or you taste burnt cotton, not on a calendar date. Troubleshooting After a Change
- Burnt taste: the coil was not primed, or the power is too high. Lower the power and let it soak.
- Gurgling or leaking: the coil may not be screwed in fully, or the tank was overfilled. Re-seat the coil and wipe the threads.
- No vapour: check the coil is seated and the device is on, then try a fresh coil.
